Step 1: Sourcing & Initial Assessment
Every device at ReNu Tech starts with a thorough initial assessment. We source devices from trade-in programmes, corporate fleet upgrades, and returns — not from damaged or water-compromised stock. Each unit is checked for physical condition, full functionality, and eligibility for refurbishment before it even enters our process.
Step 2: Full Diagnostic Testing
Our technicians run a comprehensive 72-point diagnostic test on every device. This covers the screen, Touch ID or Face ID, all cameras, microphones, speakers, buttons, charging port, cellular and Wi-Fi radios, sensors, and battery health. Any component that doesn't pass is repaired or replaced with genuine-quality parts.
We don't just test for "working" — we test for "working like new." If we wouldn't be comfortable handing it to a family member, it doesn't leave our facility.
Step 3: Data Wipe & Software Restore
All devices are wiped using certified data erasure software that meets industry security standards. iPhones and iPads are restored to the latest compatible version of iOS. MacBooks are erased and restored to factory settings via macOS Recovery. Your data and the previous owner's data are completely gone — guaranteed.
Step 4: Cosmetic Grading
We grade every device cosmetically on a clear scale. Grade A devices show no visible scratches under normal lighting. Grade A+ devices are in essentially mint condition. Grade B devices may show light surface marks. We never sell anything below Grade B, and every listing clearly states the grade so you know exactly what you're getting.
Step 5: Battery Replacement
Battery health is one of the most important factors in a refurbished device. At ReNu Tech, any battery below 85% health is replaced before sale — no exceptions. Most of our devices ship with batteries at 90% capacity or above.
Step 6: Warranty & Support
Every device comes with a 12-month warranty covering hardware defects and malfunctions. We also offer a 30-day no-questions-asked return policy. If something goes wrong, our UK-based support team is available Monday to Friday to help resolve it quickly.
